Interior designer Laurie LeBoeuf of Castle Design has always had a passion for architecture and interiors. From a very young age, she would ask her parents to take her on house tours to visit the beautiful and historic homes in her hometown, St. Louis. She would then proceed to sketch her own floor plans and dream up designs. Laurie’s love for Interior Design is deep-rooted; she has always loved exploring design and creating meaningful and aesthetically pleasing spaces. She loves the way a space can make you feel and how interiors influence our experiences and memories.
Decorative lighting is one of Laurie’s true passions as she firmly believes it is pivotal in a space. It transforms a room, whether a subtle backdrop or a high impact. Laurie has been fortunate to work with many clients who share her same passion for lighting, allowing her to push the boundaries and think outside of the box when it comes to how she dresses their spaces.
Laurie’s trademark style has a feminine touch coupled with lots of layering, clean-lines and pattern play. She designs spaces that reflect her client’s personal style and taste while putting her own stamp on the design. It is always her goal to create a vision that is fresh and beautiful, while still being functional and authentic.
She prioritizes embracing each of her client’s personalities to help them achieve their home’s greatest potential. Laurie’s goal in design is to find elements and materials that not only look aesthetically pleasing, but that also have purpose or relationship to the homeowners’ style and personality.
She approaches each project by creating a collected, curated space with items that embrace a timeless and long-lasting look. Fun Fact: Laurie has a love for black-and-white film photography. She used to work for two local photographers, developing prints in their dark room. There is something about a traditional black-and-white print produced with film that just cannot be replicated. The depth and shading are distinct and captures a timeless moment that can make the viewer see things differently. Laurie feels that this experience and passion have enhanced her attention to detail and crossed over into the world of design and architecture.
With her background in studio art, Laurie draws inspiration from color, artwork, and fashion. These wide-ranging influences allow her to affect the overall experience and aesthetic of a space while adding finer elements to surprise and delight. She especially enjoys working with clients to realize and surpass their vision through architectural detail, color, lighting, finish palettes, and artwork procurement.
Whether it’s mixing and layering styles, or creating finish palettes, every project with Laurie is entirely unique. With more than 15 years of experience in hospitality, senior living, and residential design, Laurie is creating her own unique influence on St. Louis design.
Laurie graduated from St. Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in studio art. She then went on to earn her degree in interior design. Outside of work, Laurie is busy spending time with family and friends, dining at new restaurants around St. Louis, and planning trips with her husband and daughter.
